School Bus Blown Up In West London Terror Attack

Class Heroes. Chapter 1 Aftermath of Bomb Scene

A school bus was caught in the blast of a suspected terrorist bombing on Hangar Lane in West London earlier this evening.

The bomb went off at 19:36, sparking fears of a new terrorist campaign in London.

The explosion is thought to have originated from an abandoned car on Hangar Lane, on the busy North Circular.

It is believed that a coach carrying a party of school children was caught in the blast. Emergency services arrived within minutes to rescue the teenagers from the blaze. It is not known at this time how many of the school party were killed.

Eye witnesses report that the explosion just came out of nowhere. Simon Ross, of Shepherd’s Bush, was in a car behind the school bus.

“There was a massive bang, and for a few seconds I couldn’t see. My car hit the one in front, and I just saw this coach being thrown across the road. Everyone just panicked. I got out of my car as the coach exploded and I just ran for my life. We all thought there were bombs going off.”

Gillian Dore, a local resident, said: “I was walking down the road to collect my own children from drama classes. Next thing I saw was a big explosion. I saw a coach thrown across the road. I didn’t know there were school children on it. I think a lorry hit the coach too, but I couldn’t see because there was already a lot of fire and smoke, and everyone was just panicking.”

Police and emergency services arrived quickly to seal off the area.

Within minutes there were long tailbacks on the A40 which reached as far as the junction with the M25. The Chiswick roundabout was gridlocked.

Motorists were eventually forced to abandon their cars as the police established a cordon around the area, and forensic officers arrived to examine the scene.

Hangar Lane is still closed on the approach to Uxbridge Road. Diversions are in place.

It is believed that the school children have been moved to nearby Brent Valley Hospital.
